I just voted two days back. its a nice feeling. somehow it makes you feel more powerful than you actually are!!!.
it is something i have always looked forward to doing especially after my 19th birthday a couple of months ago.
somehow most of us who vote do it to quieten our conscience. its not as if we know a lot about the candidates we
are voting for. we just go by our gut instinct. so as a matter of fact a misguided vote has worse ramifications
than not voting at all. however now that i have voted for the first time, its a great feeling. i am glad i did
it. it is possible that the candidate i voted for, would turn out far worse than any other candidate. but more
importantly i exercised my right and I am very well proud of it.
it is important to be politically aware. because that is something which has huge ramifications for us not only
individually but also society as a whole. no matter how much we try escaping this it is all around us.
i was very excited to see how the voting takes place, this being my first time. i must admit, since we went to
vote in Lavale village i had no clue about the credentials of the candidates. i certainly wish i had. but then
again i suppose studying in a secluded place like FLAME does have its own drawbacks. so we went to vote having
no clue as to what the intended agenda of the candidates were. we just ended up going there and voting for the
political party that we thought should win.
then again when we go to vote, should we vote for the political party or for the candidate. because it is
possible that we might vote for the right party but the wrong candidate. that is something that i will have
to clear out in my head i suppose!!!
